This course will cover logistic and clinical factors that emergency medicine providers must consider when treating patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. Topics covered include SARS-CoV-2 transmission, proper personal protective equipment recommendations and use, transmission risk based on procedure type, who to test, visitor restriction requirements, COVID-19 treatments available in the ER, and when to consider self-quarantine. We also discuss the allocation of scare resources in the ED/COVID-19 setting
